This study aims to analyze the effect of information system adoption and process automation on operational efficiency in retail companies, as well as to examine the role of organizational readiness as a supporting factor for successful system implementation. The main problem addressed is the low operational efficiency experienced by some retail companies due to suboptimal use of information systems and the predominance of manual processes. The research method employed is a quantitative survey with descriptive and inferential analysis approaches. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and document reviews from employees and management. The results indicate that information system adoption and process automation have a positive and significant impact on operational efficiency, while organizational readiness strengthens the effectiveness of system implementation. Implementation of systems supported by adequate infrastructure, human resource competence, managerial support, and adaptive organizational culture has been proven to increase productivity, reduce task completion time, and lower operational costs. These findings provide empirical evidence that the combination of technology, automation, and organizational readiness is key to enhancing operational efficiency in retail companies.
